A free class, Balancing Your Body Systems with Essential Oils Part II will be held at Healing Hands of Peace, 116 A Sewell Street. Friday from 7-9pm.  If you have any questions, call 615-688-0227.

 

A Gospel Meeting will be held at Leonard Church of Christ Sunday through Wednesday. The annual homecoming with dinner on the grounds will be at noon Sunday. The Clay County Singing to follow at 2pm. Guest speaker will E.C. Meadows from the Bakerton Church of Christ in Red Boiling Springs.

 

The Upper Cumberland County Human Resource Agency & Fleetwood Homes will be at the Macon County Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center Thursday at 10am to conduct a hiring event. For more information email Richard.esmonde@tn.gov.

 

The L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation Head Start Centers and the Central Office will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.

 

Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church has Bible Study every Wednesday night at 6:30pm. Everyone is invited.

 

Lafayette Masonic Lodge #543 will have their regular business meeting Thursday at 7pm.

 

Brother Derrick Dickens will be preaching at Union Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday at 11am.

 

County Government offices in Macon County will be closed on Monday, In observance of Labor Day.

 

Red Boiling Springs City Hall will be closed Monday. Monday’s garbage will be picked up on Tuesday. Set it out early.

 

The VFW turkey shoot will begin at 9am Saturday, beside Sunshine Market, no breakfast this week due to holiday.

 

Jacob Sullivan will preach at New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church Sunday at 11am.

 

Circle K Ranch on Oak Grove Rd., in Red Boiling will have a Trade Day Saturday starting at 7am. There will be horses, tack, dogs, hunting equipment and more. If you have something to sell or trade, bring it! Call Roger Knight at 615-888-6055 with any questions.

 

The Sumner County Health Committee will host Walk Across Sumner wellness program. This event is to encourage physical activity. Participants in the program will be encouraged to walk 34.5 miles. Kickoff for this event will be Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 5:30-6:30 at the Station Camp Greenway Trail head. The event will conclude Saturday, October 3rd at the Gallatin Civic Center from 7:30am til 10am. Individuals or groups interested may download a log sheet at healthysumner.com.

 

Macon Helps needs plastic bags.  If you have extra, please drop them off.  As always, they appreciate all donations.
