VFW Post 7135 at 119 Main Street, will have a Country Ham Breakfast, Saturday starting at 7:30am with the Turkey Shoot to follow at 10am beside Sunshine Market.


You’re invited to The Annual Day of Hope benefitting Sherry’s Run at Macon Bank and Trust, Main Office, Saturday from Noon – 3pm. There will be bounce houses, silent auction and their car, truck, tractor and motorcycle show and more.


The Easton Goad Foundation 5K, pre registration is open until September 28th. Race day will be October 19th at 8am at Red Boiling Springs City Park. For more information visit


A Diabetes Support Group meeting will be held, Monday at 5pm in the hospital’s conference room. The guest speaker will be Michaela Pedigo from the UT Extension Office. For more information call 615-688-7907.


Lafayette Masonic Lodge #543 will have an EA degree Monday. Potluck supper at 6pm and degree work at 7pm.

There will be an informational meeting to sign-up students for a trip to the British Isles in the summer of 2020. The meeting will be in room 208 at Macon County High School, tonight at 7pm.


The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency will hold a commodities distribution for Macon County, Thursday from 9-11am.


North Springs School Reunion of any year will be in the church building, Saturday. Bring a covered dish. Call 615-699-3212 for more information.


There will be a Doss/Law Homecoming, Sunday at The City Park in Lafayette. Bring a covered dish, your memories and photos.


Fairlane Elementary will host a Scholastic Book Fair today thru Friday. Hours of operation for the public will be 8-3:15pm Thursday. Today, hours will be 12-6pm in conjunction with parent teacher conferences and on Friday from 8-12. The 1st grade and Life Skills classes at Fairlane will be celebrating Grandparent’s Day  today and Thursday from 8:30-10am each day, notes have been sent home with times and events planned for each day. Due to crowding concerns, Pre-K and Kindergarten will have their Grandparents Day activities in February.


The Harp & Kelly Reunion will be Sunday at the Old City Park in upper Red Boiling Springs. Lunch will be at 12:30pm, bring a covered dish and spend the day.


Homecoming Services will be held at Enon Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday. Services begin at 11am followed by lunch and a singing in the afternoon by The Servants.


Macon Missionary Baptist Church has an Effort Meeting, in progress. Services will be daily at 11am and nightly at 7pm. Elder Christopher Solomon will be assisting Pastor Ken Roark.


Holy Family Catholic Church Dedication weekend begins Friday night with a Musical Celebration of Life from 6-8pm, then Saturday the Dedication at 10am with refreshments to follow and Sunday Open House from 2-4pm.


Do Re Mi Gospel Music Academy’s Fall Singing will be Sunday at 2pm, with food and fellowship after the singing.
