Decoration at Oak Dale General Baptist Church will be Sunday, Church services will begin at 11am with pastor Jason Holloway, following services lunch will be served, everyone is welcome.


Bro Dewayne Deering will preach at Macon Missionary Baptist Church at 11am Sunday and Bro Paul Owusu will preach at 7pm.


Bro Chris Solomon will preach at Maple Grove #2 Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday at 6pm. Everyone is welcome.


The VFW auxiliary is hosting at night of fun and games at the VFW Friday night from 6-8pm. A $10 donation will get you snacks, fun and a chance to win some great prizes.


The VFW will have their Country Ham Breakfast Saturday at 7:30, followed by the Turkey Shoot at 9am beside Sunshine Market.


One More Time in The Iris Patch: Remembering Doyle Smith will be Saturday. Lucille and the boys invite you to stroll through Doyle’s beloved irises one last time. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch, drinks will be provided and enjoy the music of Shade Tree Pickers. If you can’t make it on Saturday, the Iris Patch will be open for viewing on Mother’s Day. It will only be open this weekend, so if you always wanted to go, now is the time.


Tea with Ms. Debbie will be Saturday from 11-1pm at Armour’s Hotel. The cost is $15, you are encouraged to wear your fancy hat.


Macon County Historical Society is presenting “Finding Your Civil War Ancestry”, Saturday at 10:15am at the Welcome Center. This is free to public and will be held after the Historical Society’s regular business meeting at 9am.


The Terry Jackhammer Drive 12th Annual Scholarship Fund Truck & Tractor Pull will be Saturday at 7pm at the Macon County Fairgrounds.


The Step Back in Time Shop at 252 Main Street in Red Boiling Springs will have Open Craft Day Saturday from 10:30-1:30pm.


The Red Boiling Springs Folk Medicine Festival is searching for responsible individuals to volunteer in the children’s game/ride area. The festival is June 4th from 9-5pm. If you are interested contact Laura Merlo at 615-699-0152.

Macon County General Hospital will have CPR classes for BLS and CPR/First Aid in the month of May. If interested in classes call 615-666-2147 to schedule. The cost of the class will be $30.


All Macon County property owners, contractors, developers, real estate agents and all others involved in buying and selling real estate are invited to a public meeting at 7:30am Wednesday in the courtroom on the second floor in the courthouse.


Senior Awards Night at Macon County High School will be May 5th at 6pm in the Nera White Gymnasium. Seniors receiving scholarships and academic honors will be recognized.


The Macon County Public Library and Vision 2020 have teamed up to offer a series of free Lunchtime Workshops, starting May 2nd. Citizens Bank will have their May Dayz Health Fair, May 6th at the Sally Wells Building from 7-10am. This free and open to the public.


The Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinics will be the entire month of May, for a fee of $10 per pet, call one of these clinics to get your pets rabies vaccination – Evetts Animal Clinic, Macon County Veterinary Hospital & Macon Trousdale Veterinary Clinic.


Green Grove Cemetery’s Annual Decoration will be Friday, May 6th thru Sunday, May 8th. Everyone is invited and any donations can be sent to Green Grove Cemetery c/o Karen Luhrs at 2255 Honeysuckle Rd. Hartsville, TN  37074.
